I was recently watching an Instagram video of Deion Sanders, the amazing 2 sport athlete and now coach of the University of Colorado football team. Deion was being interviewed by a reporter who asked him about the highlight reel of one of his players. His response was so precious. He said,"Anyone can put together a highlight tape. Let me see your whole game and your low lights. I want to see how you practice, because normally how you practice, that's who you are. The person you are at home, when nobody is looking, that's who you are. I want somebody on my team who is smart, tough, fast, disciplined, and can deal with failure and setbacks." Pretty cool, huh? Now, we've all faced moments where life knocks the wind out of us, moments where we're thrown into the deep end, gasping for air, with the waves crashing all around us. It's during these times when we're tested to our core. This is when our true self emerges. Now, I'm not going to sit here and proclaim that I've mastered the art of dealing with setback and challenge and tragedy with some kind of magical grace and dignity. No friggin way. Every mile of this trip down Entrepreneur Street is a learning experience. But if there's one thing that I have learned from a life filled with some spectacular wins and some soul-crushing defeats, it is that in the heart of every challenge lies an opportunity. Every step in our entrepreneurial journey has its trials. There are days that weigh heavy on our souls and make the path forward appear insurmountable. But these are the days that shape us. These are the days that mold our spirit. These are the days that reveal our true DNA. So when the universe throws its curveballs, I ask you, what is the guiding light that will pull you through? What is your purpose? What is your driving force? What is the beacon in the storm that pushes you to get back up when you get the s**t kicked out of you? For me, it's a voice that whispers,"Get up! Your story isn't over." When doubts plague your mind. Remember, it's your purpose and your passion that will pull you through. Sometimes, the hardest battles result in the sweetest victories. It's the grind. It's the hustle. It's the workout that happens behind closed doors that brings forth the diamond from the rough. We have to accept the reality. Entrepreneurship with all its unpredictability is to me, the most incredible journey we can embark upon. From the exhilarating highs to the soul-crushing lows, it's a ride worth every second. And every so often in our darkest moments, we find ourselves questioning our worth, questioning our journey, our struggles, our dreams, and the vision we have for our business. But in those fleeting moments of doubt, remember you are an unstoppable fighter, and that is the only thing that matters. Each and every one of us crazy ass entrepreneurs has our battles. We have our personal battles right alongside with our business battles. Whether it's a challenging work situation, a personal health scare, cash flow strains, personal struggles, there's no escaping the storms. But it's how you weather these storms, how you rise above, that truly counts. It's easy to dream, right? But the real power is not in writing down your dreams and your goals. While that is important, the real magic happens when you take massive action. Massive action when no one is looking. Massive action in pursuit of your dreams. Remember, pain and failure are temporary. But the lessons that we learn from these failures last forever. Every setback is a setup for a comeback. Every failure is a stepping stone to success. So embrace the journey. Embrace the struggles. For that is where the true growth happens. No matter the adversities, no matter the odds, you have the power to overcome and reinvent. You hold the pen to your story. So write a tale of resilience, write a tale of toughness, write a tale of triumph. When the world tries to knock you down, gather your strength, fuel your spirit, and rise for the world, trust me, has yet to see your full potential. Stay relentless, stay driven. When the path seems steep and treacherous, dig deep and remind yourself of Why did I start this company? What is the impact I want to make? Let me tell you, it is your unwavering spirit and your fiery passion that will see you through and make you unstoppable.
